Scoundrel

Whether disappearing into a crowd or exaggerating the value of a rare treasure, a scoundrel’s gifts lie in controlling what other people see and believe.

As a scoundrel, you gain the following features.

Primary Attribute: Presence

Health and Will

Health Dice 1d8 per scoundrel level

Health Points at 1st Level 8 + Resilience

Health Points at Higher Levels 4 + Resilience

Will Dice 1d4 per scoundrel level

Will Points 4+Resilience

Proficiencies

Weapons Flintlocks, Canes, Knives

Saving Throws Presence, one other

Skills Deception plus four from Intimidation, Investigation, Stealth, and Sleight of Hand

Level 1

Expertise

Select a skill or tool with which you are proficient. Upgrade that proficiency to an expertise. You cannot select the skill associated with your specialization expertise

Starting Feats

Chose one Trick feat and one Weapon Technique feat for a weapon with which you are proficient. You can select additional Trick Feats at Scoundrel levels 3, 5, 7, and 9. You also receive a unique trick from your specialization. Your Weapon Technique feat can be exchanged for another at any of these levels as well.

Archeologist

You are a treasure hunter who specializes in finding and infiltrating trap-laden places of historical significance in order to retrieve the treasures within.

Specialization Expertise Persuasion

Level 1

Appraise & Forge

When evaluating an object of historical significance, you make History, Religion, and Esoterica rolls with advantage. If you are proficient with any crafting tools, you have advantage on any rolls to reproduce a passable replica of an object of historical significance with which you are familiar.

Trick: Expressed Appraisal

You don’t just know the difference between a priceless artefact and a forgery, you also know how to exaggerate or understate something’s value. When you make a persuasion or deception challenge to express an object’s value, you make the roll with advantage so long as you aren’t making the roll with disadvantage.

Brute

Tough and intimidating, you know the most effective path is through an obstacle.

Specialization Expertise Intimidation

Level 1

Trick: Buried Fear

You can use a motive action to become immobilized. If you are frightened, you can use this trick rather than flee the source of your fear so long as you do not move yourself toward that source.

While you are immobilized and capable of taking reactions, you can use a reaction to make an Intimidation attack against any creature that attacks you. On a success, the triggering attack is made with disadvantage.

Trick: Smoke Screen

As an action, you can make a Sleight of Hand (Presence) roll to hide and sprint at the same time. The difficulty of the Sleight of Hand challenge is any onlooker’s passive perception.
